That being said, characters do obviously contribute to the strength of your compositions, as they bring different things to the table (some have buffs/debuffs, some can hit more times/wider than others, some are just extremely heavy hitters) but in the grand scheme of things, a lot of your power still comes from the equipment (A weaker character with strong equips will do much more than a strong character with weaker equips). (since I know someone is gonna say it, ignore Awakening IV accessories lmao) All of the weapons/armor is just obtained by farming materials in-game and has nothing to do with the gacha. A good chunk of the power creep comes from equipment which will be constantly updated as the game progresses. Haven’t played it much since the OT2 demo came out though. It's extremely playable f2p. I got through the entire main quest line as a FTP. 05-.4% chance), but the game is at least playable as a FTP. You may find yourself in a situation where you are having to rely on inferior characters because you simply just can’t get the best characters (some of the chances listed for 5 star characters I’ve seen range from. It has really solid boss fights, the UI/currency systems are pretty standard for a gacha game, has great music that isn’t found in the first game, and the battle system is a little different than the main games. In terms of a mobile game (which most nowadays are less “game” and more “app that tries to pressure you into spending money”), it’s about 60% game and 40% “better throw down some money if you want these characters before they are cycled away” (my opinion).

Well, coming from someone who absolutely HATES mobile games, I thought it was pretty good.
